We visited the Old Hildalgo Pump house. Regulated the water of the Rio Grande.

Gas prices even Bob could love. $.28 a gallon.

Irrigation ditch that sends water to the ranches.

Bird sanctuary and park at the Pump house.

Dress of the 1920's.

Priest garments.

Furniture from early days.

Old kitchen pump, Chico had to try.

Tom Landry was born and raised in Mission, TX.  Very nice museum for a small town.  Interesting to learn about the town in which we spend our winters.

Things We Do in Mission

On January 31st we finally got the ok to head to our winter home, in Mission, TX.
Pralines is ready to go.

We made it to Mission, TX. in time to enjoy the Kite Festival at South Padre Island, TX. with friends.

We ate out a lot, no surprise!  .
If one Jacki is not enough, meet two more from Illinois. We ate weekly at 492 Barbeque.  Bob's favorite.

Olive Garden on Valentine Day.
We enjoyed entertainment at the park.

We enjoyed entertainment at the park by folks from our park.  This is the kitchen band, who plays for us and nursing homes.  Bob and I are thinking of joining next year.

We heard an awesome violinist who was only 16 years old.

And some of us, Jackie Garvis, played Pickle Ball in the Senior Olympics. While some of us watched, Chico Garvis, Bob Gilmore and me.

More of what we do in Mission in the next blog.
