A Walk in Sabino Canyon and Dinner at El Corral

Today we took a tram ride and a hike in Sabino Canyon.

It was a beautiful day, with a light breeze and about 80 degrees.

Stop 9 on the tram ride, the top of the road.

I look happy and refreshed here, before my hike.

We got off at Stop 1 to hike to the dam and then to our car.

This is a prickly pear cactus, which we saw along the trail to the dam.

A dead saguaro, which is home still to many desert creatures.

Interesting how this saguaro continued to grow right through the branches of this mesquite tree.

This river bed was full of water in March when we were here.

You can see the little water that is left near the dam.

This is trail we walked on during our hike. We walked 1.64 miles.  Rounded up that's a 2 mile hike.

We celebrated after a nap with dinner at El Corral.

El Corral has been in continual operation for 60 years and has the memorabilia to prove it.

Chaps and rope adds to the decor.

After a great prime rib and tasty margarita's, we headed home.
