A Week in Fredericksburg, Texas: Day One

We left San Antonio and drove about an hour to Fredericksburg, Texas, a town in Texas' Hill Country, where we met up with friends from Bentsen Grove, Milly and Larry Laux.  Fredericksburg has a very vibrant downtown.  With the old building of the town restored with fun shops, restaurants, and museums.
This is Larry, he is of German heritage.  If you can't read this sign it says,
"A Grouchy German is a Sour Kraut."

Larry and Milly got here a day before us and had visited in years past.  One thing they wanted to see was the old cemetery. Many of the graves were fenced with rod iron ornate fencing. This part of the cemetery was dated in the 1830's.

All the graves were well maintained.  This one was covered with small glass trinkets.

Across the street was a Bed and Breakfast, that had small cottages that looked like they had been moved from around Texas and brought here as a settlement. It was cute, hopeful the beds weren't as old as the buildings.

We ended the night with a great dinner at The Buffalo Nickel.  Tomorrow we head to Lyndon Johnson's State Park and National Historical Site.
