Charlotte Motor Speedway

For those of you who don't know, Bob loves NASCAR.  No he does not have a favorite driver, he has a few he dislikes but he likes many. So, being so close we had to visit Charlotte Motor Speedway.

We stay in the Charlotte Motor Speedway RV lot.  During a race, it would cost $575 a week, we paid $30 a night.  Pralines doesn't like it here it is all gravel.
We took a tour of the speedway.

In the front of this building, were hand prints and footprints of important people in the racing industry.
The first two are Buddy Baker and Cale Yarborough and they both were drivers.

This is Rusty Wallace, who drove the #2 car.

The Wood Brothers were innovators in racing.  They were the first to understand the importance of pit stops to winning a race.

This was our tour van. We traveled around the track at 85 mph.  We also stopped on the turn at a 24 degree angle and it was scary to me.

The picture on the left are the grandstands and the picture on the right are the box seats.

These are pictures of the garages.

We of course had to have our pictures taken in the winners circle.

Here is an example of the trophy awarded here.

This was enjoyable but enough NASCAR for Jacki and Jackie.  Bob and Chico left us for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
