Savannah History Museum

At the Visitor Center, there was the Savannah History Museum.  We first saw a movie about the history of Savannah, then we entered the museum.

We saw dugout canoes of the first people of Savannah.

We saw early train engines.

A cotton gin that changed the economy of Savannah.

Johnny Mercer is a favorite son of Savannah.

Some of his awards were on display.

Even his christening gown.

A carriage was on display.

Also one of the first cars, the Crestmobile 1902,
.

Both Jackie and I were Girl Scouts so the exhibition of Juliette Gordon Low meant a lot to us.
Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of the Girl Scouts and Girl Guides.

Girls Scouts aren't just cookies but they also sell calendars.

Most of us started out as Brownies. We wore this beannie proudly.

Other hats that Girl Scouts wore.

The rest of this amazing museum in the next blog.
