Savannah and Skidaway State Park

We arrived in Savannah on Sunday.  We are staying at Skidaway State Park.  David and Kathy Whittier had recommended this campground, as they had worked at it for several falls and springs, as campground hosts.  Kathy was so helpful given us detailed tips on what to see, do and where to eat.  Our friends Chico and Jackie from Bentsen Grove in winter and Chicago in summer, are meeting us on Thursday.  We came in early to see friends John and Sherry, who used to go to church with us when they lived in Ventura.

Skidaway campground is in a grove, maybe a forest of trees with Spanish moss hanging down from the trees.  We had made arrangements for John and Sherry to come to our campsite after their church finished and we would go to lunch.

This picture, I stole off of Facebook.  We didn't take any pictures while Sherry and John were here, guess we were too busy talking.  This picture is of Sherry and John celebrating the finish of tax season.  Sherry and John took us to Uncle Bubba's.  This restaurant is owned by Paula Deena's brother and they like it better that Lady and Sons.  We loved it.  I had the best crab soup I have ever had.  Was tempted to lick the bowl.
John and Sherry came back to the motorhome and we talked for hours, agreeing to get together later that week.  John doesn't retire till October so he had to go to work the next day.  Some friends you can not see for maybe 12 years, and pick up like it was yesterday.  John and Sherry are that type of friends.
