Botanical Garden Asheville, NC

                                                                      HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
Heather called her dad last week and said she was starting Weight Watchers and thought he should too.  He said he'd been thinking about it but didn't want to commit till our friends left, because we love eating out with them.  So the time had come.  I decided I would join him.  Not that I needed it but just as moral support.  Besides watching what we ate, we decided to walk some everyday.  Today's walk was at the Botanical Gardens in Asheville.

This was a nice shady spot to walk, with a stream along the trail.

We walked to this cabin.

People are helpful wherever we go.  We weren't sure which way to go so we talked to another lady hiker. See the thicket, you can see why we got a little turned around.

We came across a gazebo.  I would guess this area might be used for weddings.

At the end of our walk we headed over this bridge and watched birds while we cooled down.

Did I mention our microwave went out also?  The convection oven is still working but we thought maybe the refrigerator and the microwave troubles were connected.  The both get plugged in to electricity.
Anyway, dieting and eating out every day is tough.  The tranquility of this garden was welcome.

Thought I share a couple of pictures of the grandchildren.  They are growing and we miss them a lot.
Here is Addie visiting American Girl.

Asher, as you can see has grown a beard.  Clair has just grown.
