Michael Waltrip Racing

The next day I went with Bob to see more racing shops.  Michael Waltrip's racing is supposed to be the most fan friendly.

The lobby had fire suits from Clint Boyer, 5 hour energy and Michael Waltrip and Martin Truex, who both have worn the NAPA fire suit.

This picture shows Michael Waltrip and Mark Martin showing drivers come in all sizes.

Upstairs there were guitars won by Michael Waltrip. (I put the guitar pictures in for my son-in-law Craig.) These are trophies are from the Nashville, TN race.

We were able to walk on a catwalk and see where the cars were being work on in the shop.

This is what a car looks like before it is wrapped. (Before paint.)

This is a template, that NASCAR uses to measure all cars and make sure that meet the requirements.

We saw all kinds of spare parts.

Bob tried out a racing seat.

This is Michael Waltrip's car number 55

and Clint Boyer car's is number 15,

And Martin Truex's car number 56.

We next took a tour.

We saw the same hauler that we saw on the road coming in from Asheville.

We went inside the hauler.

In this picture, you can see that that cars go up a ramp and then are elevated to the top level.

A car was being worked on for the upcoming race.

We enjoyed the tour and I learned even more about NASCAR.
Oh, are you wondering whether the refrigerator was cool yet?  No it was not, but in denial as we were, we decided it was 107 degrees outside, so maybe it needed another day. So we headed to Chapel Hill/Durham area.
