New Refrigerator Man and Visit to the Occaneechi Indian Village

This morning our new refrigerator repairman came.  His name was Dave.  He checked out our refrigerator and determined that the new coolant unit was not working.  He said the unit starts to cool and when it gets cool enough to trigger the fan to go on, it stopped cooling.  He would have to order a new unit.  He rewired the fan, so that it was on all the time.  That made our freezer work like a refrigerator, but no freezer.
He phoned Dominica and they just  needed some numbers off the new unit to order a second one.  They were very nice and easy to deal with, so Dave said he wasn't sure if they were just a great company or if they have had many returned before ours. Now how long will it take to come in to Dave?

When he left, we decided to take a walk and drove to Hilllsborough, NC to check out an Occaneechi Indian Village.  This is a reconstructed 17th century village, on the banks of the Eno River, near where the tribe had an actual village 300 years ago. When we got to the village it had been moved and only two huts were left.  This is the first one.

And this was the second one.

Inside was a fire pit.

The park was nice none the less so we walked our mile.  Yes, we are up to one mile a day, remember it is over 100 degrees here so don't laugh.  We came across several structures like this picture below.  Do you know what it is?

It is a drain, so when this area floods, which it must do often, the water drains down this structure.  Interesting things we learn as we travel.
