Close to our campground were several acres of baseball fields. In fact, 22 fields. It was called Dream Park, so we decided to investigate.
At our campground, many of the sites were filled with parents, who came to watch their sons play at the Dream Park.
The next day we drove over to the park. We talked with a couple from New Jersey, who were with their son, who was a camper.
It seems teams come to baseball camp here. They start out of Saturday and play their final games on Thursday night.
It costs $850 for a week. You must come as a whole team. No boys over 12 years of age.
You get two hats, two shirts, a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame and a train ride somewhere.
Players come from all the states. State flags were all over the stadiums.
The ball fields were incredible. 104 teams come each week. Their are 13 weeks of camp a year.
At the end of the week, you are put in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame and you get a ring.
If two hats and two shirts are not enough, there were amazing things in the souvenir tent. An engraved bat.
Your hand molded in clay and a baseball card mounted for display.
The boys also get room and board. Here were their dorm. Parents who come along stay in campgrounds if they have an rv or in motels.
The park was established in 1996.
You need directions and a golf cart to get around the park.
