Otsego: A Meeting Place: Located on the grounds of the Fenimore Museum

Otsego: A Meeting Place was opened on July 2nd of this year. The Seneca Log House, built in the 19th century, is from the Tonawanda Reservation and reproduction 17th century Mohawk Bark House. 


An Iroquois Garden is in front of the cabin, where crops of beans, squash, and corn.


Inside the cabin there was much to see.



Are you wondering why the hard hat.  The Mohawk Indians are known for their skill in working on high rises in New York and other places. They were known as Skywalkers.

Believed to be invented by the Mohawk Indians, (a lot of people have made this claim) a racket for Jai alai.
